Hwa Chong A-Level Results

Just a quick summary of the A-Level Results that brought everyone so much joy!

Overall Performance:
As with last year record-breaking performance, 7 out of 10 students scored at least 3 H2 Distinctions and above.
An impressive number of 174 students who attained 7 Distinctions and more, with 42 students scoring 8 Distinctions and 132 students scoring 7 Distinctions.
149 students scored at least one H3 distinction and better.

Individual Subject Performance:
For H2 Biology, 8 out of 10 students scored distinctions.
H2 Mathematics, 8 out of 10 students scored distinctions.
8 out of 10 students scored distinctions for H2 Geography, more than double the national average.
Again, double the national average for two years running, 1 in 3 students scored a Distinction for General Paper, with 97.8% passes.
This batch has also set a national record for Project Work, with 98.2% scoring distinctions.
More than 3 times the national average, 71.4% scored distinctions for H2 Computing.
7 out of 10 students scored distinctions for H2 Chemistry.

TOP STUDENTS:
Stanley Lim Kah Liang of 07S7A was a key member of the Students Council and 2007 Hwa Chong-Asia Pacific Young Leaders Summit committee. He has been offered a place at the University of Chicago to read Economics, and offered the PSC Overseas Merit Scholarship.
Ho Rui An of 07A12 has also scored a total of eight distinctions. An award-winning film-maker, Rui An was the only Asian finalist in an international Film Festival. Rui An will be reading Fine Art in London, on an MOE scholarship.
President of the Students? Council, Claire Soon Jing Min of 07A15 was also the co-chairperson of the 2007 Hwa Chong Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit and a key member of the Cross Country team. Claire recently staged a drama production to raise money for the Business Times Budding Artists Fund. She is taking up the PSC OMS (Foreign Service) to read History at Oxford.
As the Chairperson of the Publications Committee in the Students Council, Tang Wei Guo of 07S6F was also in the Organization Committee of the Asia-Pacific Young Leaders Summit. He has been offered the Singapore Government Scholarship and plans to read Civil Engineering at Tokyo University, Japantop University.
An MOE Pre-U scholar and LKY Awardee for Mathematics and Science, Chan Su-Chern Philip of 07S66 was also President of the Astronomy Club. He will be reading Physics and Philosophy at Oxford on a PSC Overseas Merit Scholarship.
